Celebrating 51 Years of Kempenfest

Celebrating 51 Years of Kempenfest

Yellow line

In 1971 a handful of artists gathered in Barrie at the Formosa Springs Brewery to display their art on snow fencing and hopefully sell a few pieces. It was the birth of what would eventually be called Kempenfest. Fast forward 51 years and Kempenfest is now one of the largest outdoor arts, crafts, and music festival in Ontario. 2023 promises to be the biggest and best festival ever and it is shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of reconnecting with our community of art and music lovers.

quotes

This is my favourite festival that Barrie hosts annually. Artisans and craftsmen. Good food. The hunt for a treasure or a bargain, or that perfect gift. A wander through so many art forms. There’s something for everyone.

Truly the best outdoor event I’ve been to! Miles of vendors, arts, crafts, antiques, clothing, and jewelry — Amazing! Great live entertainment, big stage shows, amusement park, and a beer park. All situated on the edge of Barries scenic waterfront.
